Sooyoung made her surprise cameo appearance in SBS TV drama ‘Paradise Ranch‘ aired on January 31st.
Sooyoung appeared as the secretary for Han Dongjoo’s (TVXQ’s Changmin) father, Han Taeman (Ahn Sukhwan) and she got involved when Han Taeman asked her to check if there was a spelling error on something he has written.
Viewers who saw Sooyoung’s cameo appearance commented, “Sooyoung’s surprise appearance! I’m totally surprised!”, “Her cameo is jjang”, and “Will she continue to be featured?”
SONEs have done a good deed in SNSD’s name again!
SONEs have joined hands and gathered their strength again to organize a donation drive to help the patients of Lou Gehrig’s Disease. SNSD’s online fan cafe members said, “In the name of SNSD, we have donated 1 million Won to the Korean ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) Association“.
According to a team leader, “Although the amount is not huge, we hope that it would help a bit. The fact that all fansites joined hands made this effort a meaningful one”. Another member added, “In the future, we would like to participate and lead such voluntary event again”.
Shusuke Kaneko, the Director of ‘Death Note‘ who is also a big fan of SNSD tweeted about the girls recently.
On January 25th, Kaneko tweeted, “Although I’m saying this while I’m drunk, SNSD is the best idol group in the past 50 years (among singers)”.
He also tweeted earlier, on January 19th about the girls’ newly released MV for Intel Collaboration Song ‘Visual Dreams’. In his tweet, he mentioned, “I managed to watch the full version PV for SNSD’s new song ‘Visual Dream’. It’s advanced. Aren’t they going to release a Japanese version PV for ‘Run Devil Run’?”
Kaneko-san is current using a picture of the girls in Hanbok as his profile picture on Twitter. In his profile, he described himself as ‘SNSD fan, Film Director’. The well-known Japanese director had been tweeting a lot about SNSD.
Besides SNSD, he also showed his concerns towards Kara. On January 20th, Kaneko tweeted, “I have no idea but Kara seems to be in a serious situation”. On January 27th, he tweeted again but this time he was comparing SNSD and Kara’s songs. He stated, “The Japanese version of Kara’s songs are easier from Japanese to remember and sing along”.
Last year, after SNSD’s first showcase in Tokyo, Director Kaneko wrote in his photoblog, “I was stunned by SNSD’s stage performance. They were overflowing with charm on stage”.

Knowing that he is a big fan of SNSD, fanwonder.com took a step further and asked a few questions via Twitter.On a scale of 1 to 10, Director Kaneko gave Shoujo Jidai a near-perfect score of 9/10! Best idol in the past 50 years and scoring 9/10, who can realistically defeat these girls?
When asked about his favorite member, Shusuke Kaneko’s reply was , “I don’t want to decide that”, indicating that he loves all the 9 girls equally. It has been a fun twitter-interview session with the ‘Death Note’ Director and in the future, fanwonder.com hopes that there will be more chances to carry out this fun and friendly interview again. In one of the replies, Kaneko-san even quoted a line from ‘Oh!’.

Recently,’SNSD Proficiency Test’ had surfaced on SNSD’s DC Inside Gallery and various online entertainment boards. The questions centered on SNSD members as well as their hit songs. There are 20 questions in total and The questions are arranged in sequence based on different levels of difficulties. Some of the problems in the test requires the ‘candidate’ to select the group that won the Daesang at the Seoul Music Awards, members’ birthdays,matching the name of lyricists, arranging sequence of the songs, etc.
Netizens who saw the post commented, “I’m also going to get my knowledge certfied” and “This is fun. Whoever created this is awesome”.

Composer Park Sunju has nothing but all-praise for Taeyeon.
On January 31st, through her personal Twitter account, Park Sunjoo tweeted, “Kim Bumsoo-Taeyeon’s ‘Different’ had just been released at 12.00am~! During voice recording, I was quite amazed by Taeyeon’s singing. Her great vocal is comparable to Kim Bumsoo who has been in the industry for 10 years~You have done really well~ Taeyeon-yang!! Thank you everyone for your abundant love and interest”.
‘Different’ was written by Park Sunjoo who is also the producer of Kim Bumsoo’s 7th album ‘Solista:Part 2′. After listening to the duet, netizens commented, “The song really meets the expectation”, “The song took no.1 not long after it was released” and “Taeyeon has the best singing skill”.
TVXQ, SNSD and Kara have shown their domination once again where the secured 3 places in the Top 5 of Japan’s iTunes Singles chart.
According to Japan’s iTunes Singles Chart on January 30th, TVXQ’s ‘Why? (Keep Your Head Down)’ was ranked 1st, followed by SNSD’s ‘Run Devil Run’ in 2nd and Kara’s ‘Mister’ in 4th.
While SNSD’s newly released Japanese version of ‘Run Devil Run’ successfully secured the 2nd spot, their 2nd Single ‘Gee‘ which was released last year, still manages to stay within the top 10. ‘Gee‘ was ranked 9th based on the chart released on January 30th.
On January 30th, 4th generation Zainichi Korean, Lee Chungsung (Tadanari Lee),26, who plays for Sanfrecce Hiroshima scored the winning goal for Japan in the second period of extra time of the 2011 Asian Cup final, handing Japan a 1-0 victory over Australia. His celebration after the goal became a hot discussion topic.
Chungsung came off as a substitute and swivelled to fire home in a Yuto Nagatomo cross from the left in the 109th minute as the Blue Samurai sealed a narrow victory at the Khalifa Stadium.
The thrilled Lee Chungsung walked towards the fans after being congratulated by his team mates and did a goal celebration that looks like SNSD’s ‘Hoot‘ arrow dance.
The goal celebration Chungsung did received lots of love and good comments from Korean football fans as well. Lee Chungsung is currently in a relationship with Japanese singer Ayumi Lee (stage name:ICONIQ).

Seohyun was impressed by the sincerity of Jung Yonghwa’s friends who called themselves ‘Doomaekpaem’.
On MBC ‘We Got Married’ aired on January 29th, Seohyun had the opportunity to meet his hubby’s friends in Busan. At a cafe, they had a great time listening to stories, taking picture together as well as receiving gifts (a couple hoodie and old photos) from ‘Doomaekpaem’. It was really a heartwarming session.
In an interview which took place later, Seohyun said, “I can tell that they are good friends. They like hubby Yong more”.
Singer Kim Bumsoo and Taeyeon‘s duet ‘달라(Different)‘ will be released on January 31st at 12am KST and it will be the first song from Kim Bumsoo’s 7th album ‘SOLISTA: Part 2′ (scheduled to be released in April) to be unveiled.
Taeyeon, who is SNSD’s lead vocalist has always been Kim Bumsoo’s favorite junior singer and he expressed his pleasure in working and participating in the duet with Taeyeon. Kim Bumsoo is currently busy working on his new album ‘SOLISTA: Part 2′. Kim Bumsoo’s ‘나타나(Appear)’ which is the ending OST for drama ‘Secret Garden’ has been receiving lots of love from fans and viewers.
