Lee Minwoo: I thought of Hyoyeon as the second BoA

On the June 22nd’s episode of MBC’s ‘Dancing With The Stars 2′, Hyoyeon’s audition videos, as well as testimonies by her seniors will be revealed.

During the interview with the program’s production staff recently, Shinhwa’s Lee Minwoo was asked if there is a girl group that he pays most attention to and he said, “I’m a fan of Girls’ Generation and Hyoyeon particularly, as she is really good at dancing since she was young, I thought of her as the second BoA. Therefore, I’ve been paying attention to her with great interest.” He added, “It’s good to see that Hyoyeon is now living her dream.”

Besides Lee Minwoo, Super Junior’s Eunhyuk who went through his trainee days along with Hyoyeon said, “As Hyoyeon is really good at dancing since she was still a trainee, she stood out among the 100 trainees. I too, looked for Hyoyeon and learned dancing from her,” acknowledging Hyoyeon’s dancing ability.

Girls’ Generation captivates with feminine charms in ‘High Cut’

A set of pictorials showing off Girls’ Generation’s feminine sense have garnered huge attention among fans and netizens.

Recently, Girls’ Generation participated in a pictorial shoot for the 79th issue of fashion magazine ‘High Cut’. In the photos, the members were seen in romantic dresses and wavy hairstyles with goddess-like poses, which reminds one of fairies in the woods. These lovely little sisters, who are Korea’s representative on the international stages, have suddenly grown into beautiful, matured women overflowing with sense of femininity.

In the other photo revealed, YoonA, Sooyoung, Yuri and Jessica have also transformed into princesses who gave out the ‘pinkish-light’ mood. These girls are sure to captivate the readers with their deep gazes into the camera and also their very own charms.

Seohyun encourages all to visit the UN Pavilion at the 2012 Yeosu Expo

Seohyun, the goodwill ambassador for the UN Pavilion, visited the venue of the 2012 Yeosu Expo on June 20th. After having a tour around the UN Pavilion, Seohyun had a small fan signing event with 10 lucky visitors who were selected based on random draws.

Seohyun said, “Today is United Nation’s World Refugee Day. The UN Pavilion is a place where one could actually experience the situation and crisis that the world is facing.” She urged the public, “Not only the children, everyone regardless of sex and age, please come and visit the UN Pavilion.”

She added, “If we could spare some time, I would like to visit each of the pavilion with the members,” expressing her interest in the 2012 Yeosu Expo.

Sunny: Rookie mentality and fans keep Girls’ Generation going strong

On June 19th, Sunny made an appearance on KBS 2TV’s ’1 vs 100′ to challenge for the prize money amounting to 50 million Won.

On the show, Sunny said, “It will be Girls’ Generation’s 5th anniversary soon.” MC Han SukJoon then asked, “How many more years do you think Girls’ Generation could carry out activities together?” In reply to the question, Sunny smiled and said, “As long as there is rookie mentality in us, I think we could still be together as Girls’ Generation, even after more than 10 years.”

Sunny added, “The most rewarding moments were the times when we heard that our fans gain strength from watching us. In order to hear such words for a very, very long time, we will be presenting our strength-giving performances to our fans for a very long time as well.”

Meanwhile, Sunny was eliminated in the 6th round in the game show.

‘Girls’ Generation 1st Japan Tour’ DVD and Blu-ray Discs ranks high on Oricon!

‘Girls’ Generation 1st Japan Tour’ DVD and Blu-ray Disc (BD) are hot-selling items in Japan in the first half of 2012.

According to Oricon’s 2012 first half ranking, the ‘Girls’ Generation 1st Japan Tour’ BD was ranked 2nd in the ‘Music BD Sales’ category with 56,000 copies sold. In the ‘Music DVD Sales’ category as well, Girls’ Generation had once again proven their huge popularity by selling 148,718 copies in the first half of the year, where it was ranked 4th.

Girls’ Generation kicked off their ’1st Japan Arena Tour’ on May 31st, 2011 with 14 performances in 6 cities in front of 140,000 fans. Released simultaneously on December 14th, 2011, the BD and DVD had also dominated the Oricon weekly charts for both the BD and DVD categories at the same time, making Girls’ Generation the first foreign artist to have achieved such an impressive feat.

TaeTiSeo: First Korean stars gracing Korean ‘Elle Girl’ cover

Having released their first mini album ‘Twinkle’ back in May, TaeTiSeo brought out their bright and lively charms for ‘Elle Girl’. Besides that, Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun are also the first Korean stars to be featured as the cover models for the Korean edition of ‘Elle Girl’, thus making this particularly issue a really meaningful one.

In the interview conducted along with the photo shoot, Taeyeon talked about TaeTiSeo’s activities as a unit group. She revealed, “Although there were pressure for being the representative of Girls’ Generation, we tried to enjoy the opportunities to sing to our heart’s content as much as possible while carrying out the activities.”

Yuri talks about first acting experience in ‘@Star1′ pictorials

Yuri flaunts her gorgeous looks through the Paparazzi-concept pictorials in ‘@Star1′ magazine revealed on June 18th.

Yuri’s photos for ‘@Star1′ were shot at Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, which is also the home to American designer, Tony Burch’s Flagship Store and also the Lifestyle Concept Store, 10 Corso Como.


During the pictorial shoot, Yuri also revealed her thoughts about her first acting experience. She said, “Since it was my first shot at acting, it was much harder than i thought. Honestly, due to the difficulties, I was able to enjoy it.”

She added, “If there’s a thing that has changed the most after I starred in ‘Fashion King’, it has to be the fact that now, aunties and uncles can recognize me more than before. In restaurants or streets, they seem to be able to recognize the Yuri inside ‘Fashion King’. It’s really amazing. Now, I know the power of dramas.”


In addition, Yuri also expressed her enthusiasm in acting by saying, “In the future, it would be great if I have the opportunities to act again. I would like to continue challenging myself in acting.”

Meanwhile, Yuri’s pictorials in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul will be available in the July issue of ‘@Star1′.

Japanese mobile users acknowledge Girls’ Generation’s top draw dance performances

Girls’ Generation was selected as the group with the best dance performance by mobile users in Japan.

On June 18th, the ‘Ranking of Girl groups with great dance performance’ was released by Japan’s mobile music service site Recochoku. From the users’ voting result, Girls’ Generation took the no.1 spot in the survey.

E-Girls came in 2nd while Japan’s 3-member techno-pop girl group Perfume took the no.3 spot. Kara and Speed were ranked 4th and 5th respectively.

TaeTiSeo took part in ‘Be My Best Friend’ campaign

Girls’ Generation TTS and other stars joined hands to create awareness on showing love towards animals.

Besides TaeTiSeo, other stars from various fields such as Song JoongKi, Yoon DoHyun, Choi KangHee, Daniel Choi, 2PM’s JunHo, Park ShinHye, etc also participated in the pictorial shoot for ‘Be My Best Friend’, a campaign to promote love for animals by United Colors of Benetton.

Through this campaign, food supplies (1 tonne for each group of celebrity) will be donated in the names of the stars participated in the pictorial shoot to a protection center for abandoned dogs. Some of the revenues collected from the sales of the campaign’s merchandise will also be donated to the Society of Animal Freedom. The donation will be used for adoption and protection of abandoned dogs.
