More than 200,000 Kakao Talk users added Girls’ Generation as friends within just a day

Kakao Talk’s ‘Girls’ Generation Plus Friend’ service which was launched on December 28th received overwhelming response from users around the world. As of 5.30pm KST on December 29th, as many as 211,038 users have added Girls’ Generation as their friends on Kakao Talk.

Among all the stars listed on ‘Plus Friend’, Girls’ Generation broke the record for having more than 200,000 users adding them as friends within the shortest time.

By adding Girls’ Generation through ‘Plus Friends’, users are able to receive news about their performances, latest updates, videos, images and many other contents in real time and thus, growing interest towards this service is very much anticipated.


Brighten up your Christmas with Girls’ Generation emoticons

In conjunction with the Christmas season, the Girls’ Generation emoticons for Kakao Talk were introduced.

The emoticon which features Sunny, Seohyun and Hyoyeon carries the message ‘Merry Christmas’ while the Jessica-Tiffany-YoonA’ emoticon sweetens up one’s Christmas mood with the message ‘I love you’. The ‘Sooyoung-Taeyeon-Yuri’ emoticon on the other hand, contains the message ‘Well done’.

In addition to that, there are also emoticons of each member with cute messages. Besides Girls’ Generation, Kakao had also released the anti-Christmas version of emoticons featuring comedians Kim WonHyo and Kim JoonHyun.

A CF of SNSD ‘interrogating’ a Cacao bean and teaching it to pronounce ‘Ka, Kya, Keo, Kyeo’ was revealed on April 8th to promote Daum’s MyPeople smartphone messenger application.

The video features Sooyoung, Yuri, Jessica, Seohyun, Sunny and YoonA asking a cacao bean to talk. This advertisement promotes the newly released smartphone messenger application, targeting users of the Kakao Talk application which has the biggest share of the smartphone messenger application market.
