Having received their first win for ‘I Got A Boy’ on Mnet’s M!Countdown yesterday, Girls’ Generation did it again on Music Bank and brought home their second win for their new song!
‘I Got A Boy’ managed to beat PSY’s hit song ‘Gangnam Style’ with 15,955 points to 10,946 points to top KBS Music Bank’s K-Chart this week!
Besides performing ‘I Got A Boy’ on Music Bank, Girls’ Generation members Tiffany and Taeyeon also performed ‘유리아이 (Lost in Love)’, a duet included in their 4th album.

On May 11th, Girls’ Generation-TTS’s ‘Twinkle’, released worldwide on April 29th, brought home its first KBS ‘Music Bank K-Chart’ win with a considerable lead over Sistar’s ‘Alone’. This also marked the third win in a winning streak for ‘Twinkle’ after MBC’s ‘Show Champion’ and Mnet’s ‘M!Countdown’ on Tuesday and Thursday respectively.
As always, the girls continued to amaze with their powerful vocals, synchronized dances and brilliant outfits in their ‘Twinkle’ performance. Meanwhile, fellow Girls’ Generation member Yoona showed up in her ‘Love Rain’ outfit during the encore stage to show her support for the TTS members and their close relationships were evident as they shared hugs and congratulated one another. The girls also invited their juniors EXO-K to stay on stage to celebrate with them for the win.
Music Bank’s official Twitter account also uploaded a photo of TaeTiSeo with their K-Chart trophy shortly after the live broadcast.

Sohn MiNa who started her career as an announcer, met up and posed with Girls’ Generation members in Paris and her beauty has garnered attention among netizens.
On February 9th, through her personal Twitter account, Sohn MiNa tweeted with a photo attached, “Jja jan~ My certification shot with Girls’ Generation! At this moment, even my mind is all about Girls’ Generation~ Since an unnie like me is thrilled with excitement, how about oppas and samchons? Even with killer schedules, lovely smiles can be seen on the faces of these girls. I hope they would be even more matured, great and subsequently rise to the top as world-class stars”.
In the picture, even around Girls’ Generation members, Sohn MiNa has the beauty that she can be proud of. Moreover, with her black outfit, Sohn MiNa looked as though she was one of the Girls’ Generation members as they were also wearing black costumes for their performances at KBS ‘Kpop Festival Music Bank in Paris’.
Netizens who saw the photo gave various reactions like “Son MiNa really went to visit them~”, “They are so pretty! Girls’ Generation~” and “Girls’ Generation’s 10th member?”.
“We can’t wait to perform ‘The Boys’ and ‘Mr.Taxi’ for the first time in Paris,” revealed an excited Tiffany who couldn’t wait to deliver the performances of the new hit songs in front of the French fans for the very first time.
Tiffany met up with Sports Donga ahead of the KBS ‘Kpop Festival Music Bank in Paris’, which was held in Palais Omnisports Paris Bercy Stadium at 8pm on February 8th (Paris local time).
Tiffany said, “Since this is the first time that we will be performing ‘The Boys’ and ‘Mr.Taxi’, as well as other new songs in front of our fans in Europe, we are really thrilled and excited. As we have been making preparations for quite a long period, we hope the fans would enjoy our performances.”
Girls’ Generation’s participation in SM Entertainment’s first joint-concert in Europe ‘SM Town Live World Tour in Paris’ along with TVXQ, SHINee, etc in June last year, made huge headlines and garnered a lot of attention.
Tiffany added, “As Girls’ Generation’s album will be released on February 13th in France and followed by promotional activities after that, these performances are very important to us. This is our second time performing here, so we are determined to present better performances and we also wish to get even closer with our European fans.”
Besides KBS ‘Music Bank in Paris’, the girls are also scheduled to appear on French popular talk show, Canal+’s ‘Le Grand Journal’ on February 9th, as well as France2′s main news ‘Le Journal De 20H’.
In addition to these, Tiffany also expressed her excitement and joy as Sooyoung will be celebrating her birthday in France on February 10th.
All the representatives of the 8 groups who will be performing at the ‘KBS ‘Music Bank in Paris’ were present at the press conference which was held earlier. The representatives were – Tiffany (Girls’ Generation), JongHyun (SHINee), JunHo (2pm), KiKwang (Beast), JiHyun (4minute), Soyeon (T-ara), Kevin (UKiss) and Hyorin (Sistar).
The press conference was also attended by journalists and reporters from France and overseas media group such as Canal, France2, France24, Japan Life Style, Le Monde Magazine, M6, Paris Match, Radio France, RTL, TF1, TV5 Monde, etc.
The KBS ‘Kpop Festival Music Bank in Paris’ will be aired in 2 parts, each 80 mins (total 160 minutes) on February 18th, starting 11.05pm KST.
According to SM Entertainment on February 8th, Girls’ Generation will be appearing on France’s premium television channel Canal Plus (Canal+)’s popular talk show ‘Le Grand Journal’ come February 10th (Paris local time).
‘Le Grand Journal’ (airs at 7pm, Monday to Friday) is France’s most popular talk show and various pop stars such as Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber as well as famous Hollywood actors like Jodie Foster and also other world class stars have made their appearances on the show before.
SM Entertainment stated, “Girls’ Generation is the first Korean artist to be appearing on ‘Le Grand Journal’. During the broadcast, Girls’ Generation will be presenting a live performance of their hit song ‘The Boys’”.
SM Entertainment also revealed that Girls’ Generation is also expected to attend an interview with French TV channel France2′s main news programme ‘Le Journal De 20H’ (airs at 8pm) and the interview video is scheduled to be aired on February 9th.
During the interview, the girls will be introducing ‘The Boys’ special album which will be officially released in France on February 13th as well as talking about their supportive and enthusiastic European fans.

Other than the usual TGIF celebrations, we have another reason to celebrate today! Girls’ Generation had just achieved the remarkable feat of getting their sixth consecutive win on KBS Music Bank’s K-Chart for ‘The Boys’!
The 6th K-Chart win is remarkable because with this win today, Girls’ Generation became the artist with the most K-Chart wins in 2011 to date. Similar to last week’s Music Bank, the top spot was down to Girls’ Generation and Wonder Girls, and Girls’ Generation was victorious with a total points of 13,234, compared to Wonder Girls’ 10,038 points.

After concluding the round of promotions for ‘The Boys’, Girls’ Generation will be making a comeback soon with the Korean version of ‘Mr. Taxi’.
Girls’ Generation made their comeback with third album ‘The Boys’ in the middle of October and they reigned supreme on the weekly music shows and charts with 11 wins, including five consecutive weekly wins on KBS’s Music Bank, triple crowns respectively on SBS’s Inkigayo and Mnet’s M!Countdown.
The girls will be back with ‘Mr. Taxi’, starting from Music Bank this Friday (December 2nd) and they are expected to be promoting actively until the end of December.
‘Mr. Taxi’ was initially released as a Japanese single in April this year, where it managed to top the Oricon daily charts. ‘Mr. Taxi’ was also included in Girls’ Generation’s first Japanese album, released in June, which has since sold over 700,000 copies.
The Korean version of ‘Mr. Taxi’ was first heard by the public in the girls’ solo concert in Seoul earlier this year in July.
The ‘Mr. Taxi’ version of Girls’ Generation’s third album will be released on December 7th and it will feature new images of the girls in the ‘Mr. Taxi’ concept.
Meanwhile, Girls’ Generation are currently in Singapore for the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), which will be held today, November 29th.
Girls’ Generation took home their 5th K-Chart Award with ‘The Boys’, edging Wonder Girls by a whisker. Girls’ Generation scored 10,351 points while Wonder Girls who came in 2nd, collected 10,228 points. The 123 points advantage put the girls on top of the K-Chart for the 5th week in a row in addition to their triple crowns achievements on Mnet’s M!Countdown and SBS Inkigayo’s Mutizen Award.
In her speech, Sooyoung said, “We would like to thank our fans who have been giving us so much love. There’s nothing else to say besides words of appreciation. We are really thankful”. During the encore, Super Junior’s Shindong joined the girls as they were having fun and enjoying themselves.

Continuing their winning streak with new song ‘The Boys’, Girls’ Generation won their second consecutive K-Chart on today’s KBS Music Bank!
Since the release of their third album on October 19th, Girls’ Generation has topped various music charts, online and physical albums sales, including the music charts on the weekly music programmes such as M!Countdown, KBS Music Bank and SBS Inkigayo.
With yet another wonderful performance, the joy on the faces of the girls were apparent when they were, yet again, announced as the winner of today’s K-Chart. Here’s to many more wins in the future!
