The 9 angels have done it again and they have set the bar real high this time by winning the Daesang for their 2nd Album ‘Oh!’ and 2nd Album Repackaged ‘Run Devil Run‘ at ‘High1 Seoul Music Awards’ for 2 years in a row. Not only that, the girls have also completed their Daesang hat-trick (as some would have called it) after winning Daesangs in all 3 major award ceremonies for the 2010 ‘season’. Besides the Daesang, SNSD also took home the Bonsang, Popularity Award and Hallyu Special Award. With the remarkable win, SNSD are placed among legends such as Seo Taiji and the Boys, HOT and Jo Sungmo who have won the Daesang more than once. Who knows, we may be seeing a SMA Daesang hat-trick next year since these girls are record breakers.

Fany: Taeyeon wants me to say something in English, but first, I want to thank Father God….and not just to the fans here, “Thank you to all the fans who supported us throughout, all over the world. Thank you so much and we’d be nothing without you.” We’ll continue to be a hard working SNSD.
[Sooyoung] SDY: Our crying Sooyoung, please give us a short acceptance speech
Sooyoung: Thank you Father God. I wonder if a day like this will ever come again. Since it’s our occupation, our job, it’s obvious that we should work hard… I want to thank the fans who even thank us for thinking that this is obvious…and… SNSD did not just appear [or happen easily]. It was because of our nine members’ efforts and thanks to the many staff with us. We will keep working even harder in the future and we will forever remain humble as SNSD. Thank you.

Other SNSD members: 지금은 소녀시대! 앞으로도 소녀시대, 영원히 소녀시대!
It was indeed a great moment for Soshi as well as SONEs. Hope to see more ‘hat-tricks’ in many more years to come. Again, fanwonder.com would like to congratulate the girls as well as SONEs who are always behind the girls through thick thin.
Asian American youth communities have recently selected Top 100 hot music videos in 2010 through music channel ‘MYX’.
According to the result of the selections, SNSD‘s ‘Run Devil Run‘ was ranked 3rd behind hip-hop group, Far East Movement’s ‘Like A G6′ in 1st and Katy Perry’s ‘California Gurls’ in 2nd.
Besides SNSD, the other Kpop music video which made it to the top 10 is 2PM’s ‘Heartbeat’.
On December 30th, SNSD will be traveling back and forth between Korea and Japan as they will be attending the year-end events in the 2 countries. This is indeed the proof that SNSD are currently enjoying huge popularity in both countries.
The girls departed for Japan last night (sportsseoul.com mentioned ‘this morning’, which is wrong) and they will be attending the ‘Japan Record Awards’ which will be televised LIVE on TBS. ‘The 52nd Japan Record Awards‘ is an annual award ceremony organized by Composers Association of Japan and SNSD have been nominated for the Best Rookie Award.
After the award ceremony (probably after Best Rookie Award is announced), the girls will be taking an express plane ride to Korea where they will be performing at the ‘2010 KBS Song Festival‘. According to the list of performances released by KBS, SNSD will only be performing in the second half of the show. For this year’s festival, SNSD are set to grace the stage with ‘Run Devil Run‘ and then followed by ‘Oh!‘. For the ‘Most Popular Song Award’, SNSD who have released 3 powerful hits, ‘Oh!’, ‘Run Devil Run’ and ‘Hoot’ are seen strong contenders.
A representative of SM Entertainment said, “Due to SNSD’s outstanding achievements successful promotional activities in both Korea and Japan this year, there have been great interest and demands for SNSD to attend the year-end special music programs in the two countries. In order to meet and spend more memorable time with fans, we have decided to charter a private plane in view of the members’ safety, convenience and urgency”.
The chartered plane is rumored to be a luxurious Gulfstream G550 private business jet owned by Japanese airline company, EXCEL Airways. The 13-seater plane will be flying the 9 girls along with their manager and 3 staff directly from Haneda to Seoul.
The overlapping schedules are indeed adding more burden to their already-hectic schedules and the girls ought to be praised for their willingness and determination to attend both events. We hope that the girls would have plenty of rest once the year-end events are over.
Awards keep flowing in for the girls! Today, SNSD were crowned with the 2010 K-Chart Award for their 2nd Album title track, ‘Oh!‘. In the first half of 2010, ‘Oh!’ consistently sat on the top of the K-Chart for 5 weeks in a row and for that, it was also chosen as the #1 song for the first half of 2010 on KBS Music Bank K-Chart.
With the win, the girls have won the Year-End K-Chart Award for 2 years in a row. In 2009, ‘Gee’ took the #1 spot for 9 weeks in a row and thus crowned as the winner for that year. To help you recall, here’s a photo from last year.
In today’s KBS Music Bank Year-End Special, out of the top 10 songs in 2010, SNSD have 3 entries. As mentioned before, ‘Oh!’ took the #1 spot, ‘Hoot’ in 4th and ‘Run Devil Run’ in 6th.
For those who missed the performances and the result announcement, here you go:
Oh! and Hoot
2010 K-Chart goes to……OH!
SNSD’s videos were ranked 1st and 2nd on YouTube Korea’s ’2010 YouTube REWIND’.
SNSD’s ‘Oh!’ MV has been chosen as the most viewed music video on YouTube Korea, followed by ‘Run Devil Run’ MV. On the other hand, the MV for ‘Hoot’ which was released in October managed to secure the 9th spot despite the fact that it was just released about 2 months ago. ‘Oh! Dance version’ was ranked 10th and this means that there are 4 SNSD videos in the Top 10.
*Super Junior’s ‘Bonamana’ was placed 3rd, SHINee’s ‘Lucifer’ in 4th while 2NE1′s ‘Can’t Nobody’ and ‘Go Away’ grabbed the 5th and 6th spot respectively.
*Any complains? Re-evaluation needed?
