    September 18, 2010

SNSD expressed their gratitude towards their fans who have shown overwhelming response and made their debut in Japan a successful one.

On MTV Japan’s “SNSD in Japan Special” aired on September 17th, the girls talked about their debut showcase and their preparation for future activities.

Seohyun said, “During our first showcase in Japan, a lot of people have shown their interest in us. The feeling of getting so much love from them is really great.”

Sunny added, “I was so surprised as the overwhelming response was more than what we expected. I was moved by the response even before I got onto the stage. We will work harder in the future.”

On the dance choreography, Taeyeon told MTV Japan, “On our dance choreography, we are trying to highlight the members’ body line rather than just on the legs.”

The program featured SNSD’s performances of their hit songs, “Gee”, “Genie”, “Oh!” and “Run Devil Run” at the showcase in Ariake Coliseum on August 25th.

SNSD: Flash of lightning a sign of 대박(daebak)!

    September 3, 2010

While on their flight to Japan for the first showcase in Japan, the girls experienced something scary but see it as a sign of a great success.

Before boarding the plane to LA yesterday for the SM Town Live 10 World Tour Concert in Staples Center on September 4th, the girls were interviewed by media reporters. The girls saird, “recently, we took a plane to Japan for our first showcase there. Inside the plane, we saw flashes. An announcement was made later that says ‘our plane was hit by lightning but everything’s fine’. The girls then added, “it was like a scene in the movie.”

The situation could put the girls in serious danger, but the girls look at it positively. According to them, “We feel that the lightning is a sign that we will be 대박 (daebak – great success) in Japan.”

The girls are now in LA and they are scheduled to perform with other SM Town artists at the SM Town Live 10 World Tour Concert on September 4th, 7.00pm (LA local time). Here’s a picture of Sooyoung and TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho in the Boeing 747-400 bound for LA.

…and a few other photos of our girls at the airport and on the plane. Have a daebak performance in LA, girls!

    SNSD’s interview @ KBS 2 Entertainment Weekly

    August 29, 2010

The interview with KBS 2 “Entertainment Weekly” aired on August 28th revealed the girls’ reactions on the showcase at Ariake Coliseum (August 25th) and also their experiences in Japan.

When asked about the reactions from the fans, Sooyoung answered,”We never thought that there were so many people coming to out showcase. Usually fans sit while waving their light sticks but to our surprise, everyone stood up, waving their light sticks and sang our songs(lyrics in Korean).”

On the difference between Korean and Japanese fans, Hyoyeon jokingly said,”language” and the girls burst into laughter. Yuri then replied,”We were amazed that some of the fans who came to see us dressed in our stage costume”. Tiffany made it simple by saying,”cosplay”.

The host then asked if the girls have experienced the effects of their popularity in Japan. Sooyoung answered,”Not long ago, not me but one of our members went to a supermarket.” Upon hearing Sooyoung’s statement, Sunny giggled, hinting that Sooyoung was actually referring to her. Sooyoung added,”She went to a convenience store and got spotted by fans. I heard that she kept denying that she’s a member of SNSD because she did not have make-up on at that moment.” Hyoyeon then explained the reason for going out without their make-up on by saying,”…because if we go out without make-up, no one would be able to recognize us.” Upon hearing that the girls burst into laughter.

Before the end of the interview, Yuri said that SNSD hope to tour the cities in Japan and spread their music to all over the country.

Here’s the video clip of the interview:

The girls will be performing at the 2010 Incheon Korean Music Wave on August 29th with Yuri and Tiffany as the MC for the event.

Showcase @ Ariake Coliseum: Girls surprised by explosive response

    August 25, 2010

About 7000 fans attended the first of the three showcases scheduled for today at Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo. The showcase which looks more like a concert rather than a showcase last for 30 minutes.

SM Entertainment representative told Money Today Star News that the Japanese fans who are mostly female, were simply “too hot” in terms of their response. The overwhelming response surprised everyone. According to two representatives/staff, the girls were surprised and thrilled by the hot response from the fans. During the showcase, the girls performed 5 songs – Genie, Oh!, Gee, Into The New World and Run Devil Run. Sooyoung said to the fans,”I’m really happy that there are this many people who came to see our first live in Japan.”

The girls will have another 2 shows to complete and at the time this article is posted, the second show should be underway. It was estimated that a total of 22,000 fans would be filling up Ariake Coliseum for the three showcases.

During the showcase, the MV for Japanese version of “Genie” (full version) was revealed. Tiffany who was injured during their performance at SM Town Live 10 at Seoul Jamsil Stadium on August 21st looks fine and she was seen running and jumping around.

SNSD to perfom not 1, not 2 but 3 SHOWCASES

    August 20, 2010

The name “SNSD” is now one of the hottest new group in Japan and their pre-debut demand is overwhelming. With the explosive sales of their DVD “New Beginning of Girls’ Generation”, Japanese music fans are turning SONE, one by one forcing organizers to go for 3 showcases instead of just 1 showcase at the Ariake Coliseum on August 25th. Pretty tiring for the girl though.

I hope the girls get enough rest the day before. There will be about 10,000 fans per showcase. So, we’re looking at 30,000 fans in total here. The showcases are reported to be scheduled at 1pm-2pm, 4pm-5pm and 7pm-8pm. Japanese fans are so lucky but the showcases are only for those who bought the DVD though.

Here’s the translation by taengbear@soshified.com (original article from newsen.com):

The national girl group, SNSD, is making a hit in Japan even before their debut there.SNSD’s first showcase coming up on August 25th at the Ariake Colosseum near Tokyo is creating explosive response from Japanese music fans. The response is so great that two showcases have been added for a total of 3 performances instead of one, with 20,000 expected fans.

This showcase is for the people who have bought their Japanese debut DVD, and is already holding the interest of tons of people, including the media and music fans. On top of that, there is even more interest because the number of concerts have increased to 3, and it is expected that the first showcase will have 20,000 people in the audience.Considering that for previous Korean artists, their first showcases have had an average of 2000 to 3000 people, SNSD’s showcase with an expected audience of 20,000 is the largest so far and the expectations for SNSD’s future activities in Japan are becoming greater.
