The ‘SMTOWN Live World Tour III in Singapore’ concert was successfully held for the first time in Singapore on November 23rd at possibly one of the most scenic venues – The Float @ Marina Bay. With the beautiful Singapore city skyline in the background, SMTOWN artists – Girls’ Generation, BoA, TVXQ, f(x), SHINee, Super Junior, Kangta and EXO, performed a total of 50 hit songs in the attendance of 24,000 in the audience, making this concert the largest ever in Singapore in recent years.

The artists expressed their excitement to be performing in an SMTown concert for the first time in Singapore and they felt that The Float was a really special choice of a venue because of the beautiful view as well as performing on a stage above water.
When asked about the backstage atmosphere, Victoria said that SMTown seniors and juniors mingle and chat in the rare opportunity to hang out together while having fun and they cheer each other on between performances. She also enjoys the last song in the concert, ‘Hope’ where everyone of the SMTown family goes on stage to sing and greet the fans.
Meanwhile, Seohyun was concerned when asked about her opinions of fans who queued up early for the concert. She was grateful for all the fans who turned up for the concert despite not having performed many times in Singapore. As for those who have been waiting for a week, she was really worried about their health because of the rain. With that, she expressed their determination to perform to their very best to repay their fans.
Meanwhile, the SMTown family are currently in Bangkok, Thailand, having left Singapore a day after the concert to perform for the next SMTOWN concert on November 25th.

Girls’ Generation rocked Singapore with their outstanding performances on December 9th and 10th at Singapore Indoor Stadium. Singapore was the 3rd leg of the ’2011 Girls’ Generation Tour’ after Seoul in July and Taipei in September this year.
Initially, only one concert was scheduled (December 9th) but due to explosive response where the concert tickets were sold out within just 4 hours, an additional concert was added (December 10th). Girls’ Generation are also the first Korean female artists to have their solo concerts in Singapore and this has indeed proved the girls’ global power once again.
The girls performed a total of 32 songs such which includes ‘Tell Me Your Wish’, ‘Mr. Taxi’, ‘Kissing You’, ‘Oh!’, ‘Gee’ and other hit songs as well as solo performances, showcasing their dancing skills, vocal capabilities and their respective unique charms.
The performance of ‘The Boys’, the title song of Girls’ Generation’s 3rd album which took the no.1 spot on KBS Music Bank for 6 weeks in a row became the highlight of the concert. As soon as the performance started, the indoor stadium was shaken with a loud chant of ‘지금은 소녀시대 (Jigeumeun So Nyeo Shi Dae), 앞으로도 소녀시대 (Apeurodo So Nyeo Shi Dae), 영원히 소녀시대 (Youngwonhi So Nyeo Shi Dae)’ by SONEs. It was the climax of the concert.
Besides these, there was also a surprise event for the girls. During the performance of Girls’ Generation’s beautiful ballad ‘Complete’, the fans held up A4 papers with the message ‘소녀시대 makes our lives Complete’. Upon seeing the message put up by their SONEs, the girls were touched.
Before the start of the concert on the 10th, a press conference took place and it involved participation from various media groups such as Bloomberg, Strait Times, U Weekly, Yahoo, etc who demonstrated huge interest in Girls’ Generation’s first solo concert in Singapore.
After Singapore, Girls’ Generation will proceed with their 2nd solo tour next year where they will be performing in Hong Kong on January 15th, 2012.
After winning the ‘Artist of the Year Award’ at the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Girls’ Generation had a press conference at Cassia Junior Ballroom on the 3rd floor of the Sands Expo and Convention Center.
During the interview, Taeyeon said, “Currently, our Asian tour is in progress. There will be a lot of concerts and performances next year too. We have been really busy preparing for our unique concept during the end of this year to show you our new appearances”.
Taeyeon added, “If there is an opportunity coming our way, we would like to have a world tour after completing the Asian tour. We would like to meet more people”.
About the 2011 MAMA, Sooyoung commented, “As it was already an honor to attend the award ceremony itself, we are really happy to win one of the 3 biggest awards, the ‘Artist of the Year Award’”.

Not sure what #SNSDtoMY means? It simply means ‘SNSD to Malaysia‘ and the hashtag went on to top Twitter’s world wide trending topic list, just 30 minutes after the first SONESEA ‘Trending The SEA‘ project kicked off at January 29h, 12am KST!
It was a success not only for Malaysian SONEs, but also South East Asia and all the SONEs in the world. It has been proven once again that Kpop is dominating the world stage and SNSD’s popularity have increased tremendously in the past couple of years. Malaysian SONEs have been dreaming of seeing the girls live in person for almost 4 years and it is time to have their voices heard. That effort was being channeled and echoed to the rest of the world through SONESEA, the South East Asia SNSD Fan Union‘s project ‘Trending The Sea‘ which started on January 29th at 12am KST. #SNSDtoMY being the first-leg of the project. For two months, there will be trending projects for the rest of the countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines, etc where fans in the countries in this region are very ‘hungry’ and ‘determined’ to go all out just to catch a glimpse of the girl.
As mentioned earlier, the victory belonged to all SONEs in the world. Due to the passion and love for the girls, SONEs joined hands and helped out one another to make their dreams come true. Like Tiffany said, strong chemistry and team work is the strength and key to a firm foundation of a group. Indeed this also applies to SONEs. Fans have been standing side by side supporting and loving the girls for almost 4 years now and #SNSDtoMy’s success on Twitter along with other successful activities such as Soshified’s meet-ups, NorCal SONEs flashmob, etc are the indication of how united SONEs are.
As there will be more trending projects coming up, it will be awesome to see #SNSDtoTH, #SNSDtoINA, #SNSDtoVN, #SNSDtoSG, #SNSDtoPH, etc taking the no.1 worldwide trending topic spot as well. Let’s turn those wishes into realities, SONEs.
Hopefully, these efforts will be translated into the realization of dreams for the SONEs in South East Asia.
UPDATE 1: #SNSDtoMY’s no.1 trending on Twitter being featured on Malaysian newspaper
The news of #SNSDtoMY‘s successful trending exercise on Twitter had garnered attention from local Malaysian newspaper, Borneo Post. On February 1st, an article on it was published. The sensitivity and awareness of the media to the Kpop reactions in various countries is important in cultivating interest and spreading the Korean Wave and of course, the Soshi love as well. Here’s a scan of the article.

This is probably the sentence that got people all hyped up for the past an hour or so. Singapore’s U-Weekly magazine published an article that garnered much attention from fans of SM Town artists (SNSD, Super Junior, f(x), BoA, Trax, SHINee,etc). Here it is:
The article basically says this:
Besides confirming Super Junior’s Super Show 3 which will take place in January next year, local (Singapore) concert organizer, R.I.T.S are in talks with SM Entertainment to bring the SM Town Live 10 Concert to Singapore.
Interesting? It sure is, but do keep in mind that it’s not confirmed yet. At least there’s something to hope for. If it happens, then it will be another good news for South East Asian fans.

UPDATE 1: R.I.T.S denied involvement with SM Town
Ever since the U-Weekly magazine published an article on the possibility of R.I.T.S bringing SM Town Live 10 to Singapore, netizens and fans have shown their great interest in the development of the matter.
However, contrary to what was published by Singapore’s magazine, U-Weekly, R.I.T.S (Running Into The Sun) confirmed that they have no involvement with SM Town via their Twitter http://twitter.com/sgRITS. Most probably they were referring to SM Town Live 10 when they mentioned SM Town in their tweet. Here’s the tweet:
This definitely clears the air. Many would be disappointed but hey, we never know what will happen in the near future, right? Dare to dream! Pray for the best!
